4 Reasons to Cloth Diaper You Probably Haven't Thought Of

1. It helps you get your other laundry done

Since I know that I have to free up the washer for diapers every day, that means I have to make sure my other laundry gets done and out of the way. Did you know that it's easier to do one load of laundry a day than it is to do 4 loads every 4 days (or 7 loads every 7...)?? True story. 

2. It can teach your child colors, classifying, and counting

My son is able to practice his colors by asking for the color he wants next. He also helps me organize the diapers. I ask him, "How many grey diapers are in this pile?" and he counts them. I also sometimes catch him counting the snaps on the front of his diaper. 

3. It can be relaxing

Maybe I'm weird, but I find it relaxing to put on some classical music, sit on the floor or couch, and stuff and organize diapers. It's a mindless chore that allows me some time to think about whatever I want to think about. 

4. It enables self-expression

My son LOVES to choose what diaper he wants to wear next. "I wanna wear the star one! Wait... no... the bwoo one. Da bwoo one." It's not just a water-proof pant to catch urine, it's a fashion statement.

Booty Buns Review and Giveaway (US and Canada)

Look what I got in the mail the other day! I was so excited to get to try out the Booty Buns diapers, since I had heard such good things about them! 

This is what I received. Each diaper comes with two snap in inserts, a liner, and a wipe. Also, for every diaper you purchase, Booty Buns donates a diaper to a baby in need in a third world company! 

Here is a (fuzzy) picture of the two inserts. The smaller insert is used for smaller babies and can also be used as a doubler. 

The inserts snap in, and there are flaps on both ends to prevent blowouts. This is the front of the diaper:

This is the back of the diaper. Since the diaper is open at both ends, I merely unsnap the insert and let it agitate itself out in the wash. I like the elastic on the back. It's snug enough on my baby to contain messes and stretchy enough for my toddler to use the diaper as training pants.

and lots of snaps!

At first the side snap confused me. There are two snaps in the front, but only one on the side. I had a hard time figuring out where everything should go. I wish there were two side snaps. 

Look how small and large the diapers can get! As this reviewer demonstrates, the diaper snapped to the smallest setting can hold a marker in each leg!  

Snapped at its largest, the diaper can be used as training pants. The largest setting is too large for my 35 lb toddler!

Here is my 13 lb. baby with the diaper snapped to Size 2. (See the suggested sizing chart here.) I had the most problems with my daughter. You might not be able to see it from this picture, but the diaper gaps slightly in the front and is quite bulky (this is with the larger insert--the problem is not as bad with the smaller insert). 

My son is a size 4, but with the risers unsnapped. This diaper fits him so well! Most diapers are snug on him even when on the largest setting, but these diapers fit him well and he still has some room to grow!

Overall, these diapers are awesome! There are a few slight problems with bulkiness, but that's to be expected with a diaper that can get so large. These really are diapers that you can use from birth to potty training! Not many other diapers can make the same claim.
